The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has received allegations that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina influenced the appointment of Saima Wazed Putul as the regional director of the World Health Organization (WHO) despite her lack of qualifications. The ACC Director General told reporters that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating corruption in the families of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Putul, her principal secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia and Sheikh Rehana’s brother-in-law Tariq Siddiqui.
In addition to the former Prime Minister’s defense advisor, the ACC has decided to investigate corruption in his wife Shahin Siddique, daughter Bushra Siddique, nieces former British MP Tulip Siddique and Azmina Siddique.
ACC Director General Md. Akhter Hossain told reporters, “The ACC has received allegations that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina influenced the appointment of Putul as the regional director of the World Health Organization (WHO) despite her lack of qualifications.” The commission has decided to investigate these allegations.
According to ACC sources, there are allegations that Tariq Siddique and his family members are involved in corruption, abuse of power, embezzlement of government land, money laundering and acquiring illegal assets in the country and abroad in name and name.
In addition, the agency has found primary evidence against former Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia of acquiring known undeclared assets worth crores of taka through money laundering, bribery and corruption, and abuse of power abroad.
